Pop Music Theory Explained

Pop music theory is the basics of music theory as applied to popular music. So
learning the elements (like musical keys, chords and chord progressions) of a pop song
and how to play it by ear without having to actually read music. This method of teaching
has become very popular with my students over the years because it’s pretty simple
and achievable in a short amount of time. It’s also very motivating for students to learn
songs they know and love. I teach Pop Music Theory with piano and guitar.
